Introduction to Smart City
These last few years, we often hear or read about the Smart City concept is being launched by several heads of regions in Indonesia, such as Ridwan Kamil (Mayor of Bandung) and Tri Risma (Mayor of Surabaya) and Abdullah Azwar Anas (Banyuwangi Bupati). Each head of region do the implementation of smart city that is different according to the conditions and situation of the city concerned. Bandung Mayor made a smart city that is much related to the public service town, city parks, city public complaints, all served in a special room command center. Unlike the Ridwal Kamil, Banyuwangi regent put forward smart village. While the city of Surabaya to prioritize the handling of flooding and congestion as well as the improvement of city parks and roads damaged roads, by setting up a system that can respond quickly to public complaints.
What is Smart City?
Based on Wikipedia, the definition of Smart City was so broad, encompassing a wide range of overall digital technologies that can improve the quality of life, reduce costs and resource consumption, and can increase the active interaction between the city and its citizens effectively. I need to underline that the scope of digital technology that can be applied to the development of Smart City is very broad and is not limited. Implementation and application of these technologies also vary widely and can be applied in all areas during the final destination is reached.
Smart Village (Desa Cerdas)
Smart village (Desa Cerdas) in the future, will be able to run on a network that provides integrated services information. Using intelligent network capability that enables a new partnership between the government and suasta for the same purpose: namely maintaining economic growth, involving people of all ages and abilities, cope with environmental issues, as well as improving quality of life. City infrastructure investment will enable connectivity to rural areas by providing expanded services to villages in access to learning systems development, health care, smart farm (agriculture, livestock and fisheries) and business activities as well as SMEs. The village concept intelligent (Smart Village) is a connect between the Village clicking one with the other village. The problem in Indonesia is the distance and the city center are far from each other so that the development process can be said to run less prevalent. The main Tatangan in Kab. Jember is the distance and the city center are also far from each other, given the Jember district is one of the areas with the most potential in East Java in terms of the socio-demographic, natural resource wealth, and the dynamics of economic growth. The total area of 3293.34 km2 Jember district are composed of 31 Kecanratan with 226 village, 22 Village, 972 Hamlet / Environment, RW 4201 and 14 208 RT. The population to date reached 2,332 million inhabitants (Jember In Angkq 2014) with an average of 0.664 per cent population growth. So the problems of distance and area can be mitigated by the presence of IT (Information Technology). To develop the concept of Rural smart (smart Village) in Jember, there are seven focus needs to be developed that is smart economy, smart mobillity, smart people, smart environment, smart living, smart governance, smart farming, all based IT and connected with the Government District. Jember. The focus of the 7 main concern is that further optimize the smart people empowerment in each village, so the construction of both natural resources and human resources community in Jember be evenly distributed.
