BlackBerry officially announced its first smartphone with Android operating system yesterday . The first BlackBerry with Android OS is named Priv. Interestingly, BlackBerry announced the smartphone is only a few hours after the famous leakster Evan Blass divulge the name of this phone via Twitter. As expected, the BlackBerry Priv (known as BlackBerry Venice) is a touch screen smartphone with a slider keyboard.
BlackBerry CEO Jason Chen said the BlackBerry Priv will bring security system and high productivity typical BlackBerry and support applications available in Android platforms. Enterprise users continues to be one of the targets Priv BlackBerry therefore supports the Android system platform for Work on BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) 12.
For users of BlackBerry devices with BlackBerry OS 10 should not be discouraged because Jason Chen said that his company remains committed to the OS. BlackBerry will stick to its plan to release BlackBerry 10.3.3 in March 2016 with the main focus on the security side and privcay.
Priv BlackBerry will be launched later this year in some countries are the main market BlackBerry. Specifications are known to date include 808 hexa-core Snapdragon processor, 3GB RAM, 18 megapixel main camera with dual LED flash, and uses the Android OS Lollipop.
